SSC MTS is an annually conducted exam. That serves as an entrance exam for seeking Group C and D category Multitasking Staff jobs in various central government departments. The aspirants must meet the eligibility criteria to appear for these exams. They must have cleared the 10th Standard exams and should be in between 18-25 years of age. Important Subjects for SSC MTS Exam
The SSC MTS Exams have two phases, Paper I and Paper II. Candidates who clear Paper I are eligible to appear for the Paper-II exam. SSC MTS syllabus is detailed below for all the subjects.
SSC MTS Syllabus for Paper I
Type: Objective Type question.
Questions: 100
Marks: 100
Time frame: 90 minutes.
Paper I consists of 100 Objective type questionnaires conducted online. There are 4 Important subjects you should be focusing on. Each subject will contribute 25 questions. It is an objective questionnaire. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect option you choose. They are explained in detail below :
- General English: This section consists of questions concerning basic English skills. Generally, the Questions can be on one-word Substitution, English Vocabulary, Grammar, Phrases, and Idioms to detect errors in a sentence, spelling correction, etc.
- General Intelligence and reasoning: This section of Paper I is pretty tricky. The questions are mostly Brainteaser and puzzle-type. It tests the candidate’s ability to think and evaluate problem-solving skills. Focus on understanding the concept of Series, Coding, Arrangement, Logic, and Non-Verbal. Practise previous year’s question papers, Mock papers with a timer.
- General Awareness: This is a scoring section of Paper I. This section will have questions from history, politics, economics, Business and Trade, Sports, Current affairs, Physics, etc. General knowledge questions are not too easy nor too difficult at the same time.
- Numerical Aptitude: The term sounds complicated if you are not a fan of Maths. It is, however, not as difficult as most of us perceive. It requires basic maths skills, calculation, Average, determining profit and loss, determining distance, number systems, discounts, etc.
SSC MTS Syllabus for Paper 2 :
Type: Descriptive
Marks: 50
Time frame: 30 minutes. (40 Minutes for visually challenged candidates)
After you clear Paper I, you are eligible for the Paper-II exam. Paper-II is a descriptive type of questionnaire, where you will have to write about a topic or provide elaborative answers. The solution could be in English or any other language mandated in the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution.
