The top T-20 bowlers
Josh Hazelwood topped the charts and had the greatest number of wickets in 2021. But he could replicate the performances in this edition of the World Cup, and this was the main reason why Australia crashed out in the early stages of the tournament. Then in the list, we have Adil Rashid whom we could say did justification to his rankings. Against India in the semi-final or, for that matter, in the final, he did a great job with the ball. Jason Holder is another bowler who makes it to our list. The bounce that he could get on the surfaces in Australia was an advantage. But the sad part is that his team could not progress to the second stage of the tournament. W. Hasaranga was a shining light for the Sri Lankan team and did a great job with the ball. But the batting of his team was not up to the mark, and they crashed out.
The all-rounders
Shakib Al Hasan, the current captain of Bangladesh, was one of the notable all-rounders in this edition of the T-20 World Cup. A lot was expected from him, but he did not fulfil his promise. It could be said that the batting order in which he batted did not help him in any way. though his bowling did a better job if you compare it to the batting.
Secondly, we have Mohammed Nabi, who did a pretty decent job with what he had on hand. His team was deemed to be a surprise package, but it has to be said that rain did go on to play spoilsport in a couple of their games. He has been the backbone of the team for a considerable period of time, and his performance in the IPL is a testimony to that. In fact, he is one of the most sought-after players in terms of this circuit. The worst part is that after his team crashed out, he left the captaincy, citing selection interference from the selectors.
Moeen Ali was a player from whom a lot was expected during the present edition of the World Cup. But he did not justify his talent in any way. It would be ok to say that he was under bowled in a lot of matches but he mad up for it with his other skills on display. He was part of the leadership group in the team, and due to his efforts, England went on to win this edition of the World Cup. Even his best bowling figures did come about during the early part of the year against West Indies
